PUI-PT GCHIP

The Global Centre for Hybrid and Immersive Pedagogical Innovation is a leading research center at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta focusing on the development, validation, and downstreaming of technology-based hybrid and immersive pedagogical models to enhance adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable global learning quality.

PUI-PT GCHIP was officially established under Rector Decree No. 301.2/UN34/I/2025 concerning the Appointment of the Head and Secretary of PUI UNY 2025.

Organizationally, GCHIP is led by 1 Director and 1 Secretary, supported by 19 researchers and 1 administrative staff member.

Flagship Positioning

As a flagship Center of Excellence, GCHIP positions itself as a global reference center in hybrid and immersive pedagogical innovation by integrating intelligent technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Extended Reality (XR), Hybrid Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and micro-credential-based learning systems to strengthen Indonesia’s global competency ecosystem.

To become a nationally and internationally recognized reference center in the development, validation, and downstreaming of intelligent technology-based hybrid and immersive pedagogy to support adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable global education transformation toward Indonesia Emas.

  1. Develop hybrid and immersive pedagogical innovations based on VR, AR, XR, and AI technologies;
  2. Produce learning models, assessment systems, and micro-credential ecosystems aligned with industry demands and global competencies;
  3. Strengthen national and international collaboration in research, development, and downstreaming of educational innovation;
  4. Promote sustainable, inclusive, and technology-driven education transformation; and
  5. Enhance the capacity of educational human resources in effectively implementing hybrid and immersive learning.
